Los Angeles fashion designer Gregory Parkinson has been getting a lot of attention lately.
His designs have always had a sophisticated appeal, stocked by retailer Linda Dresner and worn by First Lady Michelle Obama, among others.
Last year he was a finalist for the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund Award. And just last week, he was confirmed as one of 10 former finalists who will participate in a group show in Paris in the fall.
It’s taken a lot of hard work -- as well as talent -- to get Parkinson to this point, especially in the face of a recession that mauled some of the less nimble. Writer Steffi Nelson found out more about how Parkinson has survived and thrived in the world of fashion. Read about it here.
