The good news won’t stop coming for Anne Hathaway: The fumbling princess turned A-lister has just been cast as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan‘s ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
Catwoman / Selina Kyle has been played in her previous big-screen incarnations by Michelle Pfeiffer and, in a disastrous, Razzie-winning turn, Halle Berry.
(And then there was that whole embarrassing sitch in 1991 when Sean Young tried to snag the role through blunt-force self-promotion. She did not succeed.)
Hathaway reportedly beat out Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley for the gig, opposite Christian Bale and a previously announced Tom Hardy.
Hathaway will host the 2011 Academy Awards with James Franco. For more on Hathaway’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ feline frenzy, check out Hero Complex.
