Late-night talk show host Jay Leno was among the first celebrities to hit the picket lines in support of the Writers Guild of America’s strike. (He even brought doughnuts.) But now the WGA is targeting him. Leno returned to his post Wednesday night, apparently embracing the idea that hosting the show grants him the ability to write for it as well without violating WGA rules. Not so, according to the WGA. It just released this statement: “A discussion took place today between Jay Leno and the Writers Guild to clarify to him that writing for ‘The Tonight Show’ constitutes a violation of the Guilds’ strike rules.”
