Amazon.com Inc. said it is issuing refunds or replacements on a cover for its Kindle e-book after users complained that it caused the device to freeze up or reboot.
The company responded to angry customers who were complaining in an online forum that a leather Amazon-branded cover was causing the Kindle to crash and lose its place.
“There have been some forum discussions regarding the non-lighted Kindle cover, and our engineering team is looking into this,” the Amazon Kindle Team wrote in the forum.
“Regardless, if anyone is having any problem with an Amazon-manufactured Kindle cover, please contact us at [email protected], and we will be pleased to replace it for free or accept a return for a full refund, no matter when the cover was purchased.”
The $34.99 cover comes in seven colors and fits the Kindle’s Wi-Fi-only version.
