How about eating Christmas dinner remotely?

It isn’t easy to get family and friends together for a Christmas dinner.

Seeing this, advertisement agency Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam got the idea of bringing people together at the same table -- even though they were thousands of miles apart.

The agency developed an innovative facial recognition app that allowed Skype users to remotely control five robots sitting around a dinner table just by turning their head for 15 minutes each.

‘A holiday dinner for friends and family afar to dine with one another, screen-to-screen,’ the company said on its YouTube video post.

Dubbed Virtual Holiday Dinner, the event took place over a three-day period and featured 156 people on six continents.
