Oaks Christian Coach Bill Redell said WR/DB Chris Owusu will not play Friday in the Lions’ Tri-Valley League showdown with first-place Nordhoff even though his knee injury has healed.
“He’ll suit up, but we won’t play him,” Redell said. “He probably won’t play again until we make the playoffs.”
Redell is taking a cautious approach with Owusu, who hasn’t seen a lot of running time in practice since suffering a strained knee ligament against Venice on Sept. 28. ‘We just don’t want to risk anything,’ said the coach of his top receiver.
Owusu, who has already committed to Stanford, received his acceptance papers from the Pac-10 school recently.
