S.O. Notre Dame is sent sailing into the sunset

Newport Harbor, the third-place finishers in the Sunset League, knocked off the Knights, second-place finishers in the Serra League, 7-3, at Notre Dame High.

The Sailors (8-3) will play top-seeded Long Beach Poly (10-1) in the quarterfinals next Friday. Earlier in the season, the Jackrabbits swamped the host Sailors, 34-7, in a nonleague game.
