Softball: City title game now belongs to the pitchers

San Pedro pitcher Taylor Petty (24-1) and El Camino Real pitcher Krista Cobb (25-6) have settled into a pitchers’ duel. The score is tied, 1-1, through five innings at UCLA in the City Section Championship Division title game.

Petty has given up two hits and struck out 10. Cobb has given up one hit -- two if you count an apparent sacrifice bunt that showed up as a hit on the scoreboard -- and struck out six.

This game could last a while. Or it could be over with one swing. If it’s the latter, my money’s on San Pedro.
