Baseball: Mater Dei wins in 11 innings over Orange Lutheran

Ryan McMahon delivered a clutch bases-loaded triple in the top of the 11th inning to spark Santa Ana Mater Dei to a 6-2 victory over Orange Lutheran in a Trinity League game on Thursday at Hart Park.
Mater Dei (8-2, 2-0) got a tremendous relief pitching performance from Kyle Holgate, who shut out the Lancers over the final 6 1/3 innings while giving up three hits. The two schools were tied, 2-2, after seven innings. McMahon had three hits on the day.
In a Marmonte League game, Levi Shordon struck out eight to lead Simi Valley past Agoura, 4-1. Cody Ramer homered for the Pioneers (2-1). Mark Seyler hit a home run for Agoura (1-2).
In the Big VIII League, Riverside North (8-1) defeated Riverside Poly, 8-3. Gabe Franca and Gabriel Clark each had three hits.
In a nonleague game, Angel Rodriguez struck out 10 as Chatsworth defeated Carson, 6-0. Brady Conlan had two hits and Hayden Tsutsui had a two-run double. San Fernando defeated Van Nuys, 9-2, with William Vazquez getting two hits and three RBI and Kevin Martinez getting two hits.
