Chatsworth scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead over San Fernando in the City Section Division 1 championship game at Dodger Stadium.
Chatsworth got away with a bizzare run-down play, in which Steven Karkenny broke to third, got caught in a run-down play and ended up on third, with Aaron Brown on second, when San Fernando blew the play.
Then Karkenny scored on a ground out and Brown stole home for a second run.
Angel Rodriguez struck out two of three batters he faced in the first inning for Chatsworth.
