Santa Ana Mater Dei is holding its own against Bullard’s pressure full-court defense and holds a 17-12 first-quarter lead in the Division I Southern California Regional final.

Xavier Johnson had 10 points in the quarter. Elijah Brown came off the bench to provide a spark with his hustle.
