Boys’ basketball: Calabasas waits to see if Australian gets approval

DeKeeba Battee-Aston, a 6-foot-8 basketball player from Australia who played last season in Massachusetts, wants to attend Calabasas High.

But Calabasas Coach Jon Palarz said that won’t happen unless the Southern Section approves his eligibility. So Battee-Aston is in Australia living with his mother and waiting for a decision. He’d come to live with his father, Palarz said.
