El Camino 89, Pierce 55
El Camino College, ranked No. 1 in the state by the JC Athletic Bureau, easily rolled to an 89-55 Metro Conference win over host Pierce College Friday night.
LA Trade-Tech 87, LA Valley 79
Led by a high-scoring performance by Carl Pitts, LA Trade-Tech College slipped past LA Valley College in double-overtime for its first Mountain Valley Conference victory.
The game was a shoot-out between two of the Conference’s leading scorers, Valley’s Larry Middleton and Pitts.
Middleton suffered his worst game shooting from the field, but sank 17 of 17 free throws to keep the Monarchs close. Middleton led Valley with 37 points.
