Lazers Hang On for 5-4 Win Over Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — After building a 5-1 lead, the Los Angeles Lazers escaped with a 5-4 victory over the Minnesota Strikers Tuesday night in Major Indoor Soccer League played before 5,107 at the Met Center.

Stuart Lee’s second power-play goal of the game at 11:45 of the third quarter proved to be the winner for the Lazers, who ended a two-game losing streak and moved within one-half game of the Western Division leader, San Diego, at 15-7.

The loss dropped Minnesota to 9-13 and sixth place in the Eastern Division.

The Strikers, who have the lowest goal output in the MISL with 81, nearly came back from a 5-1 deficit, connecting for three straight goals late in the second half.

The Lazers outshot the Strikers, 32-28. The Lazers return to the Forum Thursday to meet the Las Vegas Americans at 7:30 p.m.
