Kenneth F. X. Albers, new chairman of the National Council of Savings Institutions, has announced formation of a blue-ribbon task force to develop pro-competitive, dereguation-oriented solutions to the savings industry’s current problems.
He has asked the task force to “develop a comprehensive, integrated approach to current industry problems that avoids the re-regulation of the savings industry,” he told more than 1,000 delegates to the council’s annual conference in New Orleans.
John H. Rousselot, who served eight terms in the House of Representatives, 1961-63 and 1970-83, was named president of the council, effective July 1, by the board of directors.
