Costa Mesa : 215-Room Hotel OKd for County Fairgrounds
- Share via
Orange County Fair officials have given final approval to plans for a 215-room Ramada Inn that is expected to enhance the fairgrounds’ drawing power.
The three-to-four-story hotel will take up about six acres at the southeast corner of the fairgrounds. It is to have banquet and meeting rooms, a restaurant and recreational facilities.
Fair representative Jill Lloyd said the hotel is intended to serve events at the fairgrounds, but officials are hoping it will “attract more trade shows and conventions.” Completion is expected in early 1987.
The Costa Mesa City Council, while it has no jurisdiction over the state-owned fairgrounds, will review the final drawings of the hotel project.
