The City Council has voted to subsidize the cost of monthly bus passes for Alhambra residents who are 62 or older or handicapped. The agreement with the Southern California Rapid Transit District puts the subsidy into effect when RDT increases bus fares July 1. The RTD is raising the cost of bus passes for senior citizens and the handicapped from $4 to $7 a month.
