Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center has opened a blood donor center. The center, located in Suite 104 of the medical building at 1260 15th St., is open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. In the past the hospital has relied on the American Red Cross for blood, but during severe shortages has collected blood on a small scale. The hospital’s new facility will give it the ability to collect blood on a continuing basis. The center is accepting appointments to donate at 319-4513.
