Landlord Registration Mistakes Found
West Hollywood city officials have notified 90 landlords that their apartment properties were mistakenly registered in Los Angeles instead of West Hollywood.
Most of the landlords paid registration fees to the Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Division, some as much as $1,000. Those fees will be refunded by the Los Angeles rent division, according to West Hollywood Mayor Valerie Terrigno.
“We have computer printout histories for the buildings in question and we are prepared to help in any way possible to make sure that the city of Los Angeles reimburses these landlords quickly,” Terrigno said.
Landlords affected by mistaken registration can learn more about their eligibility for fee refunds by calling West Hollywood’s temporary rent control manager this week at (213) 851-0844, or starting Monday at (213) 854-7400.
