Block Hits Farm Price Supports

WASHINGTON — Both the United States and the European Community are pricing themselves out of the international market with high farm price supports, Agriculture Secretary John R. Block said today.
Consequently, he told the National Press Club, the community and the United States are subsidizing exports in an attempt to gain a larger slice of the global market--and that has produced sniping and accusations on both sides.
