Disneyland turnstiles are clicking rapidly toward the park’s 250-millionth guest, park spokeswoman Sydne Huwaidi said.
Counters indicated 249,554,214 visitors had passed through the park’s gates as of 3:30 p.m. Friday, as attendance steps up in anticipation of a lucky guest winning the package of prizes awaiting the quarter-billionth guest.
The milestone is expected to be reached before the end of August, possibly sometime next Friday or Saturday, according to park spokesman Bob Roth. It will mark the high point of a yearlong celebration of the Magic Kingdom’s 30th birthday.
The winner will receive a trip for two to Tokyo Disneyland, a 1985 Cadillac and a lifetime pass to the Magic Kingdom.
