Schwartz Wins Scratch Main Event

Bobby Schwartz of Balboa won the scratch main event Friday night in the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 5,153 at the Orange County Fairgrounds at Costa Mesa.
Schwartz defeated Kelly Moran of Norwalk in the scratch main event and finished in a dead heat with Shawn Moran of England in the match race.
Tom Burba of Garden Grove won the handicap main event, beating Mike Curoso of Fountain Valley.
Jim O’Dell of Huntington Beach won the second-division main event, and Steve Lyeno of Cathedral City won the third-division main event.
