Banks Come Out Ahead

Robert Maslac’s comments were quite valid. However, I feel there are many people who feel as I do. I like having my canceled checks returned to me for my own personal record (especially whenever I must prove payment).
I worked for a banking firm 40 years ago (after school) handing out bank statements at the counter. Since most people stop at a bank at least once a month, why couldn’t they receive their statement in person? It would save the banks postage. As for the banks keeping all the checks, where in the world would they find enough storage space?
