While most residents of Del Mar see it as a residential community, some do not--including Tom Pearson, who described it as a “tourist town” on the opinion page of your Aug. 4 issue (“Del Mar Is a Tourist Town, Like it or Not”).
Your readers would have been better-informed on Tom’s views, I think, if you had identified him as a real estate agent, consultant to developers, and a principal sponsor of a (failed) measure to increase residential density in Del Mar.
