Buena Park : Council Ups Monthly Car Allowance to $145

City Council members have more than doubled their car allowance to pay for gasoline, oil and other expenses while driving their private autos on city business.
During a council meeting last week, members gave themselves a $145 monthly allowance, up from their previous $60 monthly allotment, City Clerk Alcene Cain said.
The council members’ new allowance is the same as those of the city’s department heads, personnel director Tom Kirchner said.
The $145 allowance covers the officials’ gasoline, oil, maintenance and insurance, he said.
