Marriott Corp. heir J. W. Marriott Jr., injured in a boat explosion at his summer home in New Hampshire, was in stable condition and “resting comfortably” in a Boston hospital, a spokesman said. Marriott, 53, president of the worldwide hotel and restaurant conglomerate, received first- and second-degree burns in the blast. Officials said Marriott was fueling a boat in his boathouse “when somehow a spark ignited and away it went.”
