Edwards Enrolls at Fullerton

Jeff Edwards, a freshman linebacker from Verbum Dei High School, has been released by Cal and is enrolling at Cal State Fullerton. Edwards, who was a special admit at Cal because of a low grade-point average, may or may not be academically eligible this season, but because he was released by Cal, he could play right away without having to redshirt.
“He’s good, real good,” Titan defensive coordinator Bob Burt said. “We’re checking into whether he can play this year, but we just don’t know yet.”
Edwards, who will begin attending some classes today, said he likes the Fullerton campus and being close to home.
“I really didn’t like it up there (at Cal),” Edwards said Wednesday. “After I left, I talked to the coaches here and decided to give Fullerton a try.”
