Duarte Daughter Talks on Tape

SAN SALVADOR — A group of leftist rebels today confirmed reports they had kidnaped the 35-year-old daughter of President Jose Napoleon Duarte eight days ago, and they released a tape recording on which the woman said she was fine.
“Papa, today, Monday the 16th of September, your daughter Ines Guadalupe is speaking. I want to tell you, papa, that I am fine, I am fine. Send greetings to the family. I want to tell you that I am in the hands of the guerrilla commando group Pedro Pablo Castillo of the FMLN,” the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front, the recording said.
