2,150 Homes Lose Power: About 2,150 homes and businesses in south Huntington Beach and west Newport Beach were without electricity for about an hour late Sunday after a corroded electrical circuit failed, a Southern California Edison Co. spokesman said. The outage began at 11:42 p.m. Sunday, and power to all but 40 of the customers was restored by 12:34 a.m. Monday, James Kennedy, an SCE area manager, said. Power to the remaining customers was restored by 8 a.m. Monday, he added.
