Republicans to Establish ‘West Point of Politics’

WASHINGTON — Calling it “the West Point of American politics,” the National Republican Congressional Committee announced Tuesday a $1-million program to train 140 persons by next June for top positions in 1986 House campaigns.
Those chosen for the Republican Congressional Campaign Academy will be paid $300 a week while they attend the 10-week course for campaign managers, finance directors and communications directors.
