A key International Olympic Committee commission has called for a lifetime ban on athletes found guilty of drug violations.
The IOC Athletes Commission also said that world and Olympic records should be recognized only in conjunction with doping controls.
In a statement after a two-day meeting at Lausanne, Switzerland, the commission expressed “great concern for the increasing incidence of doping.”
“Doping remains a significant problem that blemishes the Olympic movement and all athletes,” it said.
