Sierra High School is back on the market after Pacific Scene Inc., which attempted to buy the site from Azusa Unified School District last summer, canceled its purchase last week. Pacific Scene was the only bidder for the continuation school, which was declared surplus when district enrollment declined.
The development company had planned to build a senior-citizen complex on the four acres at 456 East 5th St. but said it was unable to finance the project after a study showed that the site lacked adequate public transportation and was too far from shopping areas. The district had planned to use the $810,000 from the sale to finance air conditioning of 16 of its 19 schools.
