Baroness Direct Wins Oak Tree Feature

Baroness Direct, ridden by Chris McCarron, sprinted to an early lead and scored an easy victory in the $40,000 feature race Friday at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting.
Baroness Direct finished 4 1/2 lengths in front of Circular, ridden by Pat Valenzuela. Mimi Baker, with Alex Solis aboard, was another three-quarters of a length back in the 6 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares.
Carrying 115 pounds, Baroness Direct covered the distance in 1:15 4/5 on a fast track.
Sent off the third choice by 21,888 fans, Baroness Direct paid $10.80, $4.60 and $3.80; Circular paid $4.80 and $4.20, and Mimi Baker returned $5.40 to show.
