A 45-yard run by Monrovia running back Richard Currie and a Saugus holding penalty on Monrovia’s ensuing field goal attempt set up the game’s only score in the fourth quarter. . . . Monroviaquarterback Anthony Craft plunged one yard for the touchdown with 4:23 left in the game. . . . Monrovia defensive back Ervie Barnes then intercepted a pass with 1:14 left to preserve the win for the Wildcats. . . . An interception by Monrovia’s Steve Sgrignoli late in the first half killed a Saugus drive.

Brian McKinney (S) ran 79 yards on 15 carries. Richard Currie (M) gained 76 yards on eight carries. Joel Condren (S) was 4 for 16 passing for 56 yards. He was O for 6 in the first half. Quarterback Anthony Craft (M) was sacked five times by Saugus.
