I was pleased to see your very generous review of our book “Mimbres Pottery” in the Los Angeles Times (Book Review, Sept. 1). There is one error.

The $15.95 paperback edition was produced only for the museums on the exhibition tour and is not available at shops or institutions. We have published only a hardcover edition, which retails for $35, and that is in general circulation at bookstores and other outlets. The information as it appeared in your review might lead to some confusion--or perhaps even resentment--on the part of consumers who walk into a bookstore asking for a paperback edition that is, in fact, not available.
