Two enterprising San Jose thieves who stole a state vehicle carrying $5,000 worth of rub-off lottery tickets won’t have anything to show for their trouble. The numbered tickets were quickly voided by a central computer in Sacramento, state lottery officials said. The thieves, described as a white and a Latino male in their 20s, jumped into the state vehicle parked in front of a liquor store and sped away, police said. The vehicle was being used to deliver lottery tickets to merchants in the area, officials said.
