Japanese Firm Buys Cypress Office Building

MDC Realty Inc., a subsidiary of McDonnell Douglas Co., has sold the Mitsubishi Electric Sales America Inc, building. 5757 Plaza Drive, Cypress, to Shuwa Investment Corp., the West Coast subsidiary of Shuwa Co. Ltd., Tokyo, for $18.6 million.
The 300,000-square-foot building, with 50,000 square feet of office space, on 15.3 acres of industrial land serves as national headquarters and warehouse for Mitsubishi, which will continue to occupy it Both parties were represented by Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage Services.
