Valley 21, Southwest 13--The Monarchs improved to 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in the Southern California Conference and set the stage for next Saturday’s conference showdown against Pierce. The winner goes to the Brahma Bowl on Dec. 7.
Willie Howze caught a 48-yard pass from halfback Clifford Cannon with 13:12 left in the first quarter, and Bill Birch kicked field goals of 31 and 32 yards to give the Monarchs a 13-0 lead after three quarters and Valley never looked back.
