UCSD to Play Host Division III Volleyball

SAN DIEGO — The No. 8-ranked UC San Diego volleyball team will host the Division III West Regional Friday and Saturday at the La Jolla campus.
No. 18 Claremont-Mudd (24-9) will play No. 15 La Verne (17-14) in the opening game Friday night at 7:30 in the Tritons’ gym. UCSD will play the winner Saturday night at 7:30 for the championship.
UCSD has beaten La Verne five times this season. La Verne has defeated Claremont-Mudd twice.
The winner will advance to the quarterfinals next week against Colorado College, Eastern Connecticut, or St. Andrews, N.C.
