A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Columban’s Church in Garden Grove for former major league baseball scout Michael (Mike) Mulleady, who died Tuesday at age 65.
Mulleady, of Garden Grove, had been a scout for the Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays since the early 1970s, according to his son, Gary.
Born in Minneapolis, Mulleady played minor league ball in the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization in the 1940s. He was a long-time American Legion coach in Orange County.
Mulleady is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of Garden Grove, four sons, Gary, Ed, Michael Jr. and Pat, and a daughter, Carol Meacham.
