Los Angeles police Monday arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of murder in the shooting of a man whose body was found in front of a Sylmar bar earlier in the day.
The name of the victim, who was in his 20s, was not released until his family could be notified.
Several scuffles had broken out in the Copa Cabana Bar in the 13200 block of North Maclay Avenue before the shooting, which occurred about 12:30 a.m., Lt. Bernard D. Conine said.
Police are looking for a second person seen fleeing the scene. They are also searching for the rifle used in the shooting, Conine said.
The arrested youth, whose name was not released, is being held at Sylmar Juvenile Hall, Detective Albert Ferrand said.
