State Fair: Approved on a 66-2 vote a house resolution (HR 32) by Assemblyman Richard Robinson (D-Garden Grove) asking for a study of the California Exposition and State Fair and recommendations of improvements designed to help make it self-supporting.
Senate Floor Action:
First Woman President Pro Tem: Sen. Rose Ann Vuich (D-Dinuba) became the first woman to preside over the state Senate, in honor of Women’s History Week. Vuich will be followed by three other female colleagues on Thursday, said Senate President Pro Tem David A. Roberti (D-Los Angeles). In 1976, Vuich became the first woman elected to the Senate.
