Glendale police have arrested two more people they say are part of a cocaine-trafficking ring that was broken up by police earlier this week.
Haim Shavit, 31, and Vitolyo Simanantov, 22, were arrested late Wednesday at their home on Ventura Canyon Avenue in Sherman Oaks on suspicion of conspiracy to sell cocaine, Sgt. Mark Distaso said. A semiautomatic carbine was seized but no drugs were found, he said.
Police arrested seven people Monday and seized a total of 15 1/2 pounds of cocaine at two apartments in Van Nuys and homes in Sherman Oaks and Northridge.
Charges of conspiracy to sell cocaine were filed Thursday against Eli Cnaan, 33, of Canoga Park; David Perl, 30, of West Los Angeles; Dan Gold, also known as Dan Djenian, 36, of Northridge; Daniel Lekas, 31, of Sherman Oaks, and Robert Scherrard, 30, of Van Nuys.
Two people arrested Monday were released Thursday after the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office declined to file charges, Distaso said.
