Convergent and 3Com terminated their merger.

San Jose-based Convergent Technologies said it was advised by 3Com that its investment banker, Robertson, Colman & Stephens, has withdrawn its opinion that the merger is fair to the shareholders of 3Com from a financial point of view. Convergent designs, develops, manufactures and markets computer workstation clusters, network servers, multi-user systems and applications and systems software.
