Loyola Swamps Waves, 14-9, in WCAC Playoff

Loyola Marymount scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 14-9 victory over Pepperdine Saturday at Jackie Robinson Field to earn the West Coast Athletic Conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA baseball tournament. The teams tied for the WCAC title, forcing the playoff game.
Loyola (45-12) will be making its first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1973. Pepperdine (35-19-1) will likely receive an at-large berth in the tournament.
