Transient, 19, Held in Assault on Tourist

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A young drifter has been charged with abducting and beating a British tourist, then leaving her for dead, police said Friday.
Hollywood police on Thursday arrested Timothy Wallace, 19, and charged him with kidnaping, attempted murder and auto theft. They said he had lived in Dania, Fla., for about two months.
The victim, Kathryn Mary Jones, 26, a nurse from Southampton, England, remained unconscious and in serious condition in Memorial Hospital as a result of the May 12 attack.
