Oak Industries reported a loss in the first quarter ended March 31 of $10.2 million, compared to a loss in the same period last year of $9.5 million. Red ink from continuing operations, however, was reduced, to $12.4 million from $14.9 million. Sales from continuing operations totaled $37.9 million, down from $40.9 million last year.
