Abzug to Seek Democratic Nomination for House Seat

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — One of the most famous hats in politics entered the ring for the first time in nine years Thursday when former Rep. Bella Abzug announced she is seeking the Democratic nomination for Congress from Westchester County.
Abzug, 65, a feminist and peace movement activist whose trademark is wide-brimmed hats, was a three-term member of the House from a Manhattan district from 1970 to 1976.
