International Lease Finance ordered seven jets.

The Beverly Hills-based firm placed the $253-million order with Boeing Co., ordering seven planes with an option for an eighth, Boeing said. International Lease, an airliner leasing company, ordered three 737-400s, three 737-300s, a 757 and took an option on another 757, Boeing spokesman Tom Cole said. The company becomes the second customer to order Boeing’s new 737-400, a 150-passenger plane first ordered by Piedmont Aviation.
