LINCOLN, England — In England, where animal rights are not to be trifled with, farmer Dennis Tindale has been ordered to pay $719 in fines, damages and court costs for driving his tractor over a pet ferret.
An appeals court in this central England city convicted Tindale on Thursday of deliberately running over and killing a ferret, named Champers, belonging to two brothers who were hunting rabbits on his land Dec. 15. Ferrets are often used to track rabbits.
